Quick answer: most BYDs run 36 psi (2.5 bar / 250 kPa). The Atto 2 electric and Atto 3 EVO run 39 psi (2.7 bar). The Seal and Seal U DM-i run higher at the rear, 42 psi (2.9 bar), and the Sealion 7 runs 42 psi (2.9 bar) all round. All figures are for cold tyres.
These numbers come from the specification tables in BYD's UK right-hand-drive owner's manuals. Your own car's figures are also on the tyre label on the driver's door pillar, and that label is the final word if it differs.

Models to watch
- Seal and Seal U DM-i: the rear tyres run higher than the fronts (290 vs 250 kPa). Don't set all four the same.
- Dolphin Surf: the pressure depends on the wheel. The 15-inch tyre is 250 kPa, the 16-inch tyre is 270 kPa.
- Atto 3 vs Atto 3 EVO: the EVO runs 270 kPa against the earlier car's 250 kPa, on the same tyre sizes.
- Sealion 7 towing: raise the rears to 310 kPa (45 psi) when towing a trailer. See the official towing instructions.
- The Dolphin manual prints "36.26 bar" alongside 2.5 bar; that figure is psi, not bar. The Seal 6 manual labels its 250 as MPa; it means kPa.
How to check your tyre pressures
- Check cold. Pressure rises as tyres warm up, so don't let air out of a warm tyre to bring it down.
- Check monthly and before long trips. Under-inflated tyres wear faster and cut your electric range.
- Use a gauge, or the tyre pressure readout on the car's screen, then confirm with a gauge if a tyre looks low.

Ask the communityFrequently asked questions
What tyre pressure should a BYD Atto 3 have?
The Atto 3 (2024) runs 250 kPa (2.5 bar / about 36 psi). The newer Atto 3 EVO runs 270 kPa (2.7 bar / about 39 psi). Both are front and rear, cold.
What tyre pressure does the BYD Dolphin use?
The Dolphin runs 250 kPa (2.5 bar / about 36 psi). The Dolphin Surf runs 250 kPa on 15-inch tyres and 270 kPa on 16-inch tyres.
What tyre pressure does the BYD Seal use?
The 2026 Seal runs 250 kPa (2.5 bar) at the front and 290 kPa (2.9 bar) at the rear.
What tyre pressure does the BYD Sealion 7 use?
The Sealion 7 runs 290 kPa (2.9 bar / about 42 psi) front and rear. When towing, the rears go up to 310 kPa (3.1 bar).
What tyre pressure does the BYD Atto 2 use?
The electric Atto 2 runs 270 kPa (2.7 bar / about 39 psi). The Atto 2 DM-i plug-in hybrid runs 250 kPa (2.5 bar / about 36 psi).
